Hi Ya’ll. I think most mother’s dream of dressing up their little girl in the cutest outfits on the planet every day of the week. Although my daughter is the cutest little thing, she is a kid. Which means she makes a mess, gets dirty and is constantly getting into things. With that being said, I try to keep her everyday wardrobe simple yet cute. This means, for the most part, I dress her in shorts and girlie graphic tees for spring. Well if found myself wanting to break up the monotony of tees and sought out patterns for cute girlie tops that can be worn any day of the week. I stumbled upon a new release from Simplicity.

Inside, I’ll share with you my opinion and experience with Simplicity’s 8347.

Simplicity 8347 includes toddlers’ dress, top, knit capris, romper and stuffed bunny. The dress, top and romper are sleeveless and have ruffle neckline with bow. Acceptable fabrics for the dress, romper and top included non-stretch lightweight to medium weight woven fabrics like cotton, cotton blends and linen blends. For this project I made View B with a few modifications.

Easy. The instructions were few and easy to follow. Like most children patterns, this requires the use of single folder bias tape.

For this project made two tops from fabric purchased from JoAnn’s.

I decided not to make the bow and or place trim near the hemline. I didn’t want contrasting fabric or trim on the ruffles so I used the extra fabric to make the casing for elastic.

I really loved this pattern. The top is girlie yet simple enough for everyday wear. It’s also a super quick sew. It took all of 2.5, maybe 3 hours to make both tops. I will likely make another top soon.

Hope you all enjoyed. Please like, comment and follow.
